Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!Our Mail Cargo Agent is responsible for handling, processing, and managing the movement of mail cargo through the airport facilities. This role includes loading and unloading mail from aircraft, sorting and organizing mail for distribution, and ensuring timely and accurate dispatch to destinations. You must adhere to safety and security protocols, handle documentation related to mail cargo, and operate equipment such as forklifts and trolleys. Additionally, you will work with airlines, postal services, and other stakeholders to coordinate mail logistics and address any issues that may arise.What It's Like To Work As A Mail Cargo Agent:You like working as a team, toward a common goalHandle and process incoming and outgoing mail and cargo at the airportSort and organize mail and cargo based on destination, priority, and typeOperate ground handling equipment for loading and unloading mail and cargoEnsure proper handling and storage of mail and cargo in compliance with safety guidelinesCoordinate with airlines and ground crew for the timely transfer of mail and cargoInspect mail and cargo for security, verifying contents against documentationPrepare and maintain accurate records of mail and cargo shipmentsYou have a great attention to detailYou enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasksLike to build long term relationships with your customersPhysical activity may include:Stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 70 pounds or moreBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environmentClose vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)Qualifications:Minimum age of 18 years oldAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documentsExperience in cargo handling, logistics, or a related fieldFamiliarity with mail processing and sorting proceduresAbility to operate cargo handling equipment such as forkliftsGood organizational and communication skillsPhysical ability to lift and move heavy itemsFlexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysComfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tabletsAbility to pass a drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAirlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
